(Last Updated On: September 20, 2020)

The best types of heaters are ones that can heat a whole room, or at least, that’s what people want when they’re looking to purchase a heater. That’s because when Winter comes, our central heating system can’t do the best job. However, thanks to a whole bunch of brands on the market that create and sell heaters, we have a larger selection to choose from. Lots of people purchase ones to heat their entire house, at the same time some just want a personal heater.

These types of heaters are just meant for just a single person. That said, one of the main things to consider about getting these personals heaters is if they’re even powerful enough for personal use and if they’re quiet enough to be used in an office workplace.

This Honeywell HCE100B fan heater is one of the most minimalistic personal heaters that you’re going to find on the market. Minimalistic on the size, weight, and function of the heater. So let’s take a closer look.

Feeling the Heat:

Personal heaters are meant for just a single person, as they’re simply not powerful enough for heating an entire room. That goes for bedrooms and living rooms alike. In this case, this Honeywell heater has a very small size and therefore it has a small fan that pushes out a little amount of heat.

It also has two low heat settings. That said, the one surprising thing that we found with this Personal heater is that it has two heat settings. Most of the time personal heaters just have a single heat setting and that’s it. In this case, it has a low heat setting with a 170Watt output and then there’s a High setting of 25Watts.

They’re both very low compared to other heaters that have 900Watt settings to 1500Watts, of course, we’re not here to compare this heater to larger ones. As there is no comparison.

The best way to take advantage of the little heat this heater does generate is to keep it at least 2 feet away from you to feel the heat. Having it further away than that and you likely won’t be able to feel anything.

Chargers in this Guide:

Fuel Usage:

Power usage for the heater isn’t going to be much of a problem at all. As the two power settings on this heater are very low when compared to other ones that can have a higher heat output. As a result, using this Honeywell heater for an extended amount of time won’t have too much of an impact on your electrical bill.

Functional Components:

With small heaters such as this one, you also get easy functionality. As this heater has a 6-foot power cord and once you plug it in, all you have to do is just adjust the button at the top.

At the top is where there’s an Off, Low and High setting that is controlled by just a single button. You have just to press the button on which setting you want it with. That’s all there is to using this heater, the bare minimum and there is no thermostat. At the front is where there’s a light that comes on once you have the heater running.

Size and Weight:

One of the other best parts of this heater other than its good personal heating abilities is a small size for it. It has a height of only 6.5 inches and a width/depth of 5.7 inches. This heater can easily be taken with you to your workplace if you wanted to or anywhere else because of its very small size and lightweight of just 1 pound.

Structure and Material:

This heater is made quite well, although you shouldn’t expect the top quality material that you would find in larger and more powerful heaters. Of course, it’s made of plastic, but the reinforcement behind that plastic isn’t very good and we recommend not dropping it from a high height; As that can cause dents within the heater. The good news is that the plastic material is fire-resistant and doesn’t get hot at all which makes the heater easy to move around even when you’re using it for long durations of time.

Surprisingly, safety with this heater is very good and it’s surprising because for the most part, personal heaters just have to overheat shut-off protection and that’s it. In this case, it has an auto shut-off and it also has tip-over protection which also automatically turns off the heater.

This Honeywell HCE100B person heater is meant for personal use and to meant for heating a bedroom at all. Simply because of its very small size and low heating power. We do like that it has two heating levels though, which is something that not all personal heaters have.

It’s a very small heater that can easily fit onto a work desk and it’s also easy to travel with too. Using it is very easy with it having a power cord and a button with three options to choose from.

Don’t drop this heater from a high place, as the plastic isn’t reinforced well enough for that. Safety is very good with is shutting off if the heater overheats or tips over.

Personal heaters are very helpful when they’re used on a small scale, and this Honeywell HCE100B personal heater is one of them. With its two option heating and very easy to use controls, we think you’ll have a blast using it nearby.
