During winter, the one appliance that we always search for once it gets cold enough is a heater. Those cold days are absolutely unbearable, your heating system just can’t get the job done and so using a heater completely makes sense. Then you have to consider what heater you want to purchase as there are so many of them out on the market. There are heaters that use different ways to output heat than others, and there are ones that come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

That said, at times, you just want a small heater for just your personal use, such as having it in your bedroom and keeping the heater close to you. That’s basically what Lasko Ceramic Tabletop is heater is like, so let’s see what its got in this review.

Power

Feeling the Heat:

The main thing to know when it comes to this heater is that it’s quite small and even though the wattage output is quite large, space where the heat actually comes out from is small. With this Lasko heater, the frame from where the actual heat comes from is about 7 inches.

There are three main setting to put this heater on.

The first level is the fan and that basically only blows out hair and no heat. In a way, you can use this heater as a mini fan too. That said, the other two levels are where you can use this as a heater.

The first level has an output of 900Watts and that basically translates into 3,070 BTU. Also, the other dial on his heater is able to adjust the thermostat on this heater. The high setting with this Lasko tabletop heater has a 1500Watts output and a BTU level of 5,118. With this being a mini heater, both of the settings have their place on when you should use them.

Two Very Different Settings

The low setting is best for having the heater close to you and having the heat mainly go onto you, as there’s really only enough heat for doing that at 900 Watts. Using the heater at its High setting is going to be the more useful option for heating up a bedroom and this heater is actually very capable of that once you have it on high. However, this heater will not be able to warm up a living room too efficiently at all and you may want to consider getting a larger heater if you want to heat larger areas of your house.

As this heater is mainly meant for individual and bedroom use for having the optimal results.

Fuel Usage:

When it comes to the power usage that each of the settings with a heater is able to use, there are simply too many variables to say. So you would have to compare with what your electrical bill was without the heater usage and with the heater usage.

Design

Functional Components:

The heater is very easy to use. It has a 6-foot power cord, plug it in and you’re ready to use it. You can use the left dial to change the setting of what level you want the heater to be at. The first one is a fan and that’ll make the heater just blow air out.

The level 1 is the first heat option and you can then control the thermostat with the right knob, so the heater can either keep running until the acceptable temperature is met or it’ll turn off automatically once the temperature has been reached. Then changing the heat to level 2, of course, increases the heat rate and intensity too, and so the thermostat’s temperature will be reached at a faster rate.

Overall, this is a very easy heater to use and its functionalities are quite good too considering the size of it. Also, once the temperature goes below the thermostat settings, it will automatically turn back on in order to make sure the room is at the constant temperature.

At the back, the heater is an indented handle which makes it easier to hold. So it’s not a handle that sticks out, but the handle is part of the heater itself. Also, there is noise when it comes to this heater, but the longer it runs the quieter it gets, to the point where it just makes a muffled humming sound that gets lost within the background.

Size and Weight:

The most notable thing about this heater is just how small it is. It only has a height of 9 inches, a width of 7 inches, and a depth of 5.7 inches. The weight of this heater is 3.5 pounds, both of those things make this heater very easy to move around.

Build

Structure and Material:

The outside of this heater is mostly made of plastic, while the inside is made of ceramic. It’s a durable enough heater, but we recommend not placing it too high on a piece of furniture since if it were to fall, it would most likely break.

Safety:

This Lasko heater does automatically turn off if does overheat. That said, it doesn’t automatically turn off if it gets tipped over and that can be a problem if you have pets as a cat could potentially push this and make it fall; having it run while being faced down on the ground isn’t a good thing at all. However, that’s likely when the overheating mechanism would kick in and actually turn off the heater for you.

This heater is UL listed so it does have a good safety assurance to it.

Summary:

Function:

The heat output is pretty good with this heater. However, it’s really only meant for small areas such as a bedroom or for just personal use as the heating output is very small.

Design:

It’s a very easy heater to use with just two dials and it automatically turns off once the temperature matches the thermostat and it automatically turns back on once the temperature goes below the thermostat.

Build:

The build is alright, but just be cautious with it falling from a high height. It automatically turns off if it overheats but not if it gets tipped over. It’s UL listed.
