If there’s one element that can make the biggest change when it comes to your outdoor living space, it would have to be fire. Of course, we’re talking about furniture that utilizes fire such as fire pits, fire pit tables and also outside fireplaces. They have a way of making your outdoor living space feel more like yours and make it feel that you can actually take advantage of it and that’s really the whole idea. What’s the use of having a part of your house that you don’t even use? They also have their own functionalities that can prove to be very useful depending on how much that they’re able to output.

This UniFlame Endless Summer fireplace is one of those outdoor pieces that you’re going to want to purchase if you want to improve the aesthetics of your outdoor living space. Not exactly for the fire that it provides. So let’s take a closer look.

Function

The heat output of most propane powered fire pits, fire pit tables, and patio heaters are quite higher and we’re talking about being in the 30,000 BTU range. It makes sense to have that type power output too because you’re using these outside and having a low heat output means that you’re going to feel less of the heat from your heat source. However, in this case, this Endless Summer fireplace stand is not something that you’re getting for the heat and that’s because it has a considerably lower heat output than most other appliances that you’d place outside.

Feeling the Heat:

It has a 10,000 BTU output and with this type of heating power, you’re going to be able to feel the heat only from about two feet away. Which is basically sitting or standing right next to the fireplace. Or if you want, since this fireplace isn’t too steep with its price, you can very well purchase multiple ones and have them all quite close to each to have more heat generated within a vicinity.

Fuel Usage:

Fueling for this fireplace is also quite different and that’s because it’s compatible to use with a 1 lb propane tank. Most of the time when it comes to outdoor fire appliances they tend to use 20lb propane tanks, but that’s really the case because they tend to have higher heat outputs. Since this fireplace only has a 10,000 BTU output, using a 1lb propane tanks goes well. As just a single tank can last you for about 8 hours if you have this fireplace ats highest setting. Using it at its lower setting will result in a few more hours of heat use.

Design

Fortunately, this fireplace does not require any assembly at all, unless you consider having to place an AAA battery into the ignition and connecting the propane tank to the gas hose being assembly.

Size and Weight:

The size of this fireplace is on the tall side, and honestly, we should be calling it a fire tower because of its height. As it has an 11.8-inch length and width. The height of it is 27.9 inches and so it sits quite high that you can sit on a chair and you’ll be able to feel the flame right next to you. The weight of this is quite manageable as it weighs 29.5 pounds and that’s good as you’re able to move it by yourself if you’re comfortable doing so.

Functional Components:

Using this Uniflame Endless Summer fireplace is simple enough and basically what you can expect from using a fire pit and fire pits tables. As it already has a hose that’s compatible to use with a 1 pound propane tank at the bottom, when you open the small compartment door. When you attach the hose to the propane tank you then turn the propane tank all the way on and wait for about a minute for it pressurizes. A 1 pound propane tank can fit into the bottom of the fireplace.

Once that’s done, under the compartment door is where you’ll find the ignition button and the knob dial that’s used to adjust the fire once it’s on. You have to press the dial in and set it to Low and then press the ignition button multiple times for about 45 seconds. Then the fire will turn on, after that, you can adjust the fire to however much that you want.

At the times, the auto-ignition doesn’t work and that’s when manually lighting the fire is going to be necessary.

The fireplace comes with black fire rglass and we find it to be alright, at the same time, it would better to use Blue or Red fire glass as it’s more noticeable when you light the fire.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of this fireplace is pretty good, but it’s not the best by any means. It has a Faux Stone build to it and that basically means it’s made of Cement with some other layers of the composite. The materials hold up well, but you most definitely should cover it up when you’re not using it as the materials can wear down easily if you’re not keeping it safe from the elements.

Unfortunately, this fireplace doesn’t come with a cover and therefore, you should use something such as a large trash bag to protect it.

Something that many customers have asked if they can use it under a covered patio and you can, as the flame of this fireplace isn’t too large at all. Using it inside shouldn’t be done though unless you have very good ventilation.

Summary:

Function:

You’re not purchasing this fireplace for the heat but more of the ambiance that it provides and that’s because it has a low BTU output.

Design:

The size and weight of this propane tank are good, but it has a tall height which can be a surprise to some. Using it is easy enough, and the use of a 1 pound propane tank can be very convenient.

Build:

The material that it’s made of is meant to be cost-effective rather than resilient, and that’s why covering it up is important and putting it away during the winter months is a good idea so it doesn’t chip away the materials.
